Vital, Not Viral
You didn't evolve for this life...
You evolved to tell stories — to pass wisdom across a fire to your Tribe.
You did not evolve to be rich and famous — to be worshipped by strangers.
You evolved to teach and mentor — across generations in your Tribe.
You did not evolve to change the world — but to change the world of your Tribe.
You evolved to argue and change minds — within the trust of your Tribe.
You did not evolve to be applauded — but to be understood.
You evolved to read emotions — on familiar faces.
You did not evolve to go viral — but to go vital, in the lives of your Tribe.
You evolved to create art — to develop the culture of your Tribe.
You did not evolve to sell art — to turn culture into a commodity.
You evolved to feel shame — as a signal from your Tribe that you had gone astray.
You did not evolve to perform your worth — but to embody it, among those who see you.
You evolved to lead — not over millions, but within a Tribe who respects you.
You did not evolve to be self-sufficient — but to lean, to carry, to belong.
You evolved to pray and grieve — together, in a Tribe that bears your sorrow.
You did not evolve to serve a machine — but a living, breathing Tribe.
You evolved to hold ritual — so your Tribe can elevate what matters.
You did not evolve to be alone — staring at screens instead of faces.
You evolved to forgive — within a reciprocal life among your Tribe.
You did not evolve to disappear unknown — your name unspoken in a crowd.
You evolved to be loved.

So we’re confronted with the power and necessity of human Tribe, but are surrounded by rampant hostile tribalism. What to you feel is the balance between these factors? And expansion of who we consider part of the tribe? If we expand it too far, it seems like at a certain size calling it a tribe is more just a linguistic aesthetic choice, because perhaps the tribe dynamics change or disappear when a tribe gets too large. Curious what your thoughts are. Enjoyed the piece.
